New E-Learning Module: Having a Baby

Beyond Words is delighted to announce that we have been awarded a grant from BMA Giving to create a new e-learning module for maternity professionals.

This training resource will be shared with maternity units across the UK and is designed to be used alongside our word-free book Having a Baby. It will give midwives, health visitors, and maternity caregivers the tools to use word-free books effectively, helping them to deliver information without words and support people with learning disabilities to understand pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood.

The module will focus on making maternity information accessible and inclusive, equipping professionals with confidence to explain choices using word-free books and ensuring every parent feels informed, empowered, and supported throughout their journey.

This project marks an important step towards more inclusive maternity care, ensuring that no one is excluded from understanding or choice.
