Tom Takes on the Budapest Marathon for Beyond Words
This October, Tom will take on the Budapest Marathon to raise funds for Beyond Words, becoming the first person to take on a sponsored marathon challenge for our charity.
After discovering a love of distance running, Tom has already completed the Liverpool Half Marathon and the Two Castles 10K. Now he is stepping up to his biggest challenge yet: 26.2 miles through the streets of Budapest.
Tom has chosen to take on this challenge in support of Beyond Words and the work we do to make information, learning and communication more accessible.
Every penny Tom raises will be used to for our work creating word-free picture books and resources with people with learning disabilities and communication difficulties. Our work helps people understand information, express themselves, make choices and take part in conversations that matter to them. The funds raised will also support our inclusive Book Clubs, where people can explore stories together, build confidence and reduce isolation.
We are incredibly grateful to Tom for choosing to fundraise for Beyond Words and for putting his time, energy and training into this challenge. We are equally grateful to everyone who has already supported him with a donation or words of encouragement.
Please support Tom as he prepares for race day. Every donation will help us continue our work and reach more people who find traditional written information difficult to access.
