Sue has been instrumental in developing book clubs across the South East. She has led development and training for book clubs in Kent and beyond.

Sue Carmichael is a Book Club champion for Beyond Words and has project managed the development of clubs in Kent in partnership with Kent Libraries and Skillnet Group. She is retired from work in the Department of Health and a career working with and supporting people with learning disabilities and their families. Her current interests include Changing Places Toilets campaign, the Challenging Behaviour Foundation and gardening when she is not at a book club.
